Colorado’s First “Type A” Life Care Community Officially Opens
HIGHLANDS RANCH, CO, JULY 02, 2008Classic Residence by Hyatt, a national leader in luxury senior living, today welcomes its first residents to the company’s newest continuing care retirement community (CCRC) in Highlands Ranch, Colorado, which officially opened its doors this week.
The $150 million dollar development, a “Type A” continuing care retirement community (CCRC), is the first of its kind in Colorado. The 23.5-acre community, located just south of Denver, has 252 independent living residences. The Care Center, which will open in 2009, has 16 suites for assisted living, 12 suites for Alzheimer’s/memory support and 24 suites for skilled nursing care services available on site to residents.
In this ideal location for a luxury living community, older adults will enjoy views of Mt. Evans and close proximity to two medical centers, the airport, Rocky Mountains, and over 60 miles of walking trails for outdoor enthusiasts. Resident homes are spacious and range from 1,107 to 1869 square feet, with entrance fees for the community ranging from $275,000 to $750,000.

The developer, Shea Homes, and construction company, Saunders Construction, as well as all engineers, are based locally in Colorado. The architect is Chicago-based Solomon Coldwell Buenz.
